Still on indefinite hiatus, but I wanted to post this in honor of Gentleman Mimi's birthday :] (x posted to miracle)

Title: Til It Happens to You
Fandom: Super Junior
Rating: R (mention of sexual situations)
Pairing: Qmi
Summary: (AU) Kyuhyun is maybe kinda sorta whipped.
A/N: Still on indefinite hiatus (finals, kill me plz) but I really wanted to make a birthday post on time for once. Especially since it's for Gentleman Mimi :D So here's my qmi slice of life fic, and I'll see you all again in a few years TT___TT

Kyuhyun doesn't act like this, he's not the type to look at someone and feel his heart stutter in response. He doesn't let people get to him like that. But Zhou Mi has just tripped up the stairs to their apartment, the laundry bag he'd been carrying up-ending over steps, clean clothes landing in leftover puddles from the recent rain. And then there's Zhou Mi, sitting in the middle of it, sunglasses askew, lip between his teeth, hands frozen in front of him like he's not sure what to pick up first. And there's not a time Kyuhyun can think of when he has ever found another person as emotionally overwhelming as he finds Zhou Mi.

He's so distracted by the warmth in his chest, he barely catches the smile spreading across his face. He tilts it into a smirk at the last second, swallowing the laughter he's sure will upset Zhou Mi, "I don't know if I should clap or..."

Zhou Mi drops his head and lifts his arms, fingers spread, "10 points out of 10," he sing-songs pathetically.

Kyuhyun scoffs and shuts the door behind himself before skipping down a few steps to grip Zhou Mi's wrists, tugging him to his feet, wincing slightly at the grind of delicate bones under his fingers.

"Sorry, I just. I don't know. One second I was vertical, the next... not." he smiles hesitantly when Kyuhyun rights the designer frames covering half of Zhou Mi's face.

"Yeah well, someone as tall as you, it was only a matter of time before gravity turned against you." slipping his thumb around the curve of Zhou Mi's jaw, Kyuhyun side steps him and sets about gathering their now dirty laundry.

He's about to tie off the bag when he spots a missed article. Zhou Mi's smothers a laugh and Kyuhyun manages to snag his Superman boxers off of their next door neighbor's railing seconds before she opens the door. She smiles and waves, shifting her briefcase from one hand to the other. Kyuhyun goes to lift a hand in response, but remembers what he's holding. Instead he offers her a nod and ignores Zhou Mi's sniggering.

"Your fault. You can go back and rewash these." he says, looping a tight knot at the top of the laundry bag before handing it back to Zhou Mi.

He takes it without protest, just a tilt of his head and an impossibly slim finger pressed to his lips, "Yeah, but if it's only nine AM and I've already managed this, imagine what else could go wrong," he shoulders the bag and flashes Kyuhyun a smile, "Well, it's mostly yours anyway so..."

"Is this condition of yours terminal?" Zhou Mi shakes his head in response and gives him a kiss that tastes like too-sweet coffee. He sighs, "Let me go get out of my pajamas, at least."

After pulling on a questionably clean pair of jeans and pocketing all the change they'd managed to dig out of the couch, he slips on Zhou Mi's flip flops and grabs his metro pass and some detergent.

"Let's walk." Zhou Mi plucks the card out of Kyuhyun's grasp before he can even protest, and offers his hand instead. Kyuhyun spares a second to wonder if it's even worth arguing, but then Zhou Mi has that stupid smile on and it's not like arguing is even an option anymore.

Two blocks later and Kyuhyun's pretty sure he's got it figured out. He hikes the laundry bag higher onto his shoulder and catches Zhou Mi's eye, "You know, we could have done this on the subway, no reason to make me cross half the city on foot." he squeezes the hand in his and Zhou Mi's bites his lip, eyes sliding away from Kyuhyun's gaze. Gotcha.

The fingers woven with his go a little slack, offering the option. He adjusts his grip and tugs Zhou Mi closer, hips brushing. It's inexplicable, he thinks, that he's been turned into one of these types so easily. He should have just stayed home and enjoyed his morning with the Pokemon: Master Quest marathon and mouthfuls of cereal washed down by milk straight from the jug.

Instead he's left struggling to get both himself and the bag through the door while Zhou Mi runs ahead to chat with John and Elizabeth, the older Chinese couple that owns the laundromat. He manages to make it in without losing a limb, and drops the laundry infront of the nearest machine. Leaning against it, he tries not to pant; Zhou Mi never passes up a chance to poke fun at Kyuhyun's apparent lack of physical fitness. He sucks in a few more breaths before loading up the machine.

He's just dropping the lid when Zhou Mi finally makes it over, "You should go say hello."

"Did you?"

"Yes."

"Well then that counts for me too."

Zhou Mi rolls his eyes and tugs Kyuhyun closer by the waistband, reaching his free hand into Kyuhyun's pocket, pulling out a few coins and depositing them into the machine.

"That was completely unnecessary."

A quick glance around the room, and then Zhou Mi's got his lips against Kyuhyun's, hand tangled in his hair, tongue slipping into his mouth. He pulls back abruptly and it takes Kyuhyun a few seconds to catch up, eyes opening slowly. He licks his lips and wonders how Zhou Mi always manage to make his head spin like that. It's like he's got it down to a science or something.

But then Zhou Mi's back in his personal space, voice at his ear, smiling, "Maybe I just wanted to get a hand in your pants."

Laughing, Zhou Mi pulls away and Kyuhyun's left tugging at his ear, frowning because there's no way he can do what he really wants to, well, not without getting arrested anyway. He lets out a suffering sigh as Zhou Mi shrugs and grabs a magazine, settling into a chair. He glances at the display on the machine, about two hours, he guesses. He considers the magazines on the table, but there's nothing he'd waste his time on. Resignedly, he drops into the seat next to Zhou Mi's and stares into the spin cycle.

Before too long he's tapping his foot, leaning forward, elbows braced on his knees, and cracking his knuckles. He doesn't realize the tension that's seized up his muscles until he feels an arm lay across his shoulders, fingertip tracing idle circles over the back of his shoulder, and suddenly it all bleeds out and he's unwound. He glances to his side and sees Zhou Mi still flipping glossy pages disinterestedly. Nope, whatever magic he has, he hides it very well.

The arm around his shoulder tugs him closer, and he slips his head onto Zhou Mi's shoulder, because why not. It's not the most comfortable position in the world, the sharp edge of his collarbone ends up digging into his temple, but it's familiar and warm and the steady in and out of his breathing has Kyuhyun's eyes feeling remarkably heavy.

A little while later he wakes up, head in Zhou Mi's lap, to the smell of clean laundry and the air's turned humid and sweet; he debates closing his eyes and drifting off again, but then there's the article of clothing that's dropped on his face and he figures he's been found out, "These better be clean."

He reaches a hand up and tosses the shorts ontop of the adjacent machine. Zhou Mi had somehow managed to fold most of the laundry, despite having Kyuhyun's head in his lap. "Magic," he murmurs, sitting up.

"What?" Zhou Mi pauses, holding up the shirt he'd gotten Kyuhyun for his last birthday, navy blue with the chemical structure of caffeine screened across the front. He'd been honestly surprised when it wasn't another one of the skin cleansers Zhou Mi's always pushing on him.

"Nothing." he waves off the question and stands, stretching before he sets about folding the rest of the laundry.

He doesn't quite manage to escape without Zhou Mi dragging him over to the owners, 'because it's polite, Kui Xian'. But really he doesn't even get to say much past hello before Zhou Mi's launched into Mandarin that's just too fast for him to bother keeping up with. Instead he occupies himself with the pictures behind the register, a much younger Elizabeth accompanied by John in a military uniform, a few family shots, what he assumed were grandchildren and a couple recent onces that looked like they'd been taken in the laundromat.

He's interrupted by a loud burst of static from the radio beside the register.

"Aiya! He doesn't know what he's doing!" Elizabeth exclaims, hands raised, before she turns to lean over the counter, swatting away John's hands. John grumbles and lets his wife go about adjusting the dials, "I told you, you have to hit this first and then you can set it. You don't listen. You let me do it from now on, okay?"

John shakes his head and looks at Kyuhyun, shrugging as if to say, what can you do?

He's not sure, how to respond because he's too busy being completely terrified at the possibility that this is what he and Zhou Mi could become in a couple years. Oh God, what if they already are?

"Kui Xian? You don't look so good." he lays a hand across Kyuhyun's forehead, "Maybe we should get home."

He offers a quick goodbye to John and Elizabeth and steers Kyuhyun out of the laundromat and onto the street, pushing him down onto a nearby bench. He stands in front of Kyuhyun and leans down so their faces are inches apart, Zhou Mi's breath stirring his bangs. He tries to look directly at Zhou Mi, but he's moving closer still and Kyuhyun just ends up cross-eyed. Then Zhou Mi has his hands on either side of Kyuhyun's face and he's laughing and his smile is so open and perfect and everything Kyuhyun loves about him. So he smiles back and he's sure it looks awkward and probably pretty stupid, but Zhou Mi doesn't seem to mind because he's pressing his mouth to Kyuhyun's and their smiles are touching and dissolving into kisses.

Kyuhyun doesn't really care if he's become one of those types, or if he spends every free Saturday from now until the end of time asleep on Zhou Mi's shoulder in the middle of the laundromat, or if Zhou Mi has some kind of voodoo that keeps Kyuhyun wrapped around his finger, or even if they're turning into an old married couple.

Maybe none of this is something Zhou Mi's turned him into. Maybe this is something Zhou Mi brings out in him, something that's been waiting inside for just this one person. He doesn't think he could ever articulate it to him, but he takes Zhou Mi home and abandons their laundry just inside the door, kicking it closed as he pulls off his t shirt. He kisses him breathless as they stumble towards their bedroom, they end up no farther than the hallway. Zhou Mi presses half kisses wherever he can reach and he's breathing things that have Kyuhyun's heart racing, fingers tangled together as they tip over the edge.

Kyuhyun's sure he's going to have rug-burn on his knees and Zhou Mi's got a pretty big hickey just under the corner of his jaw, but it was worth it, he decides.

It's all worth it.

A/N II: I based Elizabeth and John off of the Chinese couple that ran the laundromat I went to when I was younger. John used to sit with me and tell me stories about living in China while Elizabeth jumped in every five minutes to correct him lol They were hysterical and I love them still.
